The Thurman Family: Lights in the Heights

A couple weeks before Christmas, we stopped in at our friend Will's house to take in the "Lights in the Heights" festival. Each year, a several block section of the Heights neighborhood in Houston goes all out in their light displays, and hosts an evening festival where the streets are open only to walking traffic, and many of the homes have carolers, musicians, and other forms of entertainment performing on their porches (last year there were belly dancers at one house!). Despite the fact that it was about 80 degrees and humid, we did our best to get into the Christmas spirit!
