Chatty McTalksAlot

Hello! Wow, it's been a long time since I've posted anything. My apologies to Matty's fans!

Let me catch you up...the main development has been in Matty's speaking skills. He is talking up a storm now and cracking us up. Here are a few of the funnier things he has come up with...

One day when Juan was getting him out of the highchair after breakfast, he smeared some strawberry juice on Juan's white t-shirt and then proudly pointed at it and proclaimed "Art!".

When I was reading Monsters, Inc to him, I pointed to a picture of Sully (a big, purple, hairy monster for anyone who hasn't seen it) and asked him who it was. Matty responded "Daddy".

Just last week, Juan was trying to get him to eat his dinner. Here's a recap of their conversation:
Juan: How about some beans?
Matty: No.
Juan: How about some carrots?
Matty: No.
Juan: How about some chicken?
Matty: How about cookies?

That one really cracked us up. Matty will do anything for cookies.

Along with the talking, he's turning into a typical 2-year old. Lot's of "no!" and a few all-out screaming and kicking tantrums. Argh. What happened to my agreeable little baby?

We spent 4th of July weekend at my parent's cabin in Minnesota with my family which was alot of fun. It was also REALLY nice to get out of the 100 degree heat we've been having. Literally, I think there have been 3 days in the last month that have been less than 98 degrees. And, we still have a solid 2 months of summer to go. Sheesh.

Matty took quite a liking to his big cousing Jack (7 yrs old) while we were there. Jack invented a game Matty loved where he would throw a toy straight up in the air and when it bounced to the ground, Matty would chase it down, pick it up and give it back to him saying "Here, Jack!". Jack was very patient with Matty, playing this game over and over again. When Jack went down to the water to go fishing, Matty went to the screen door of the porch saying "More Jack! More Jack!". Cute stuff.

Here's a link to our photo album from 4th of July, and a few pics from around Houston:

We hope you all are having a great summer!

So cute! Looks like he's getting his daddy's sense of comedic talent.
